Mingus Reedus, the son of Norman Reedus and Helena Christensen, has been arrested and charged with alleged assault<\/p>\n

The alleged incident, involving a 33-year-old woman, took place in New York City on Saturday, Aug. 23<\/p>\n

The model was previously arrested in September 2021 for allegedly assaulting a 24-year-old woman<\/p>\n

Mingus Reedus<\/a>, the son of Norman Reedus<\/a> and Helena Christensen<\/a>, is facing legal trouble for alleged assault.<\/p>\n

The model, 25, was arrested in New York City near 16th Street and 8th Avenue at approximately 8:40 a.m. local time on Saturday, Aug. 23, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed to PEOPLE.<\/p>\n

He has since been charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and assault, according to the NYPD.<\/p>\n

When authorities arrived at the scene, the NYPD said they “observed a 33-year-old female with minor injuries to [her] neck and leg.”<\/p>\n

“EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals\/Bellevue in stable condition,” the police organization added.<\/p>\n

Mingus was taken into custody, and an investigation remains ongoing, per the statement from the NYPD.<\/p>\n

Representatives for Mingus did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Aug. 23.<\/p>\n

Mingus was previously arrested<\/a> in September 2021 for allegedly assaulting a 24-year-old woman during the San Gennaro festival in New York City.<\/p>\n

At the time, the woman \u2014 whose identity was not shared publicly \u2014\u00a0said Mingus punched her in the face following a verbal confrontation.<\/p>\n

Police reported that she was injured below her left eye, and the woman was taken to New York’s Downtown Hospital, where she was in stable condition.<\/p>\n

After the incident, Mingus alleged to The New York Daily News<\/a> that the woman and her friends came after him and his friends during the festival. Mingus ultimately accepted a plea deal<\/a> in March 2022 for the lesser charge of disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n

In a prior statement to PEOPLE<\/a>, Mingus’ attorney, Isabelle Kirshner, called the 2021 charges \u201cbaseless.” She added that Mingus \u201cwas the victim in this incident.”<\/p>\n

Mingus was born to dad Norman and Helena, both 56, in 1999. The former couple met through a mutual friend in 1998 and dated for five years before splitting in 2003<\/a>.<\/p>\n
