Director Ram Gopal Varma has shared his candid opinion on War 2, starring Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan, criticizing the film for prioritizing grandeur over realism.<\/p>\n

Varma alleged that certain scenes were shot with unnecessary extravagance, distancing the audience instead of drawing them in.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are adding heaviness in the name of production value\u00a0 – top angles, drone shots. Such visuals look great in a trailer, but inside a theatre, the audience cannot emotionally connect with them. These scenes don\u2019t allow viewers to bond with the story,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Comparing it with Rajamouli\u2019s style, Varma noted, \u201cRajamouli also makes such scenes, but they always sync with the concept and the required grandeur. Other filmmakers forget their story and, in the name of elevation, create massive visuals that alienate the audience. When you show unnecessary heaviness, the audience loses trust.\u201d<\/p>\n

Varma expressed particular dissatisfaction with some action sequences in War 2, especially Hrithik Roshan\u2019s entry fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had many complaints about that scene. When I asked a key person from the film, the reply was: \u2018We added it because it feels new.\u2019 That answer left me speechless,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

He warned that illogical, overblown scenes can kill a story.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf a scene doesn\u2019t demand such heaviness, forcing it in will only destroy the narrative,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Adding a lighter note, Varma said he sometimes feels like doing YouTube-style reviews of films, much like Paruchuri Brothers\u2019 analysis, but refrains.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I did that, many people I know would get hurt.
