Maren Morris<\/a> is opening up about a disturbing experience on her current “Dreamsicle Tour.” The 35-year-old country music star, who kicked off the North American leg of her tour on May 30 in West Hollywood, California, revealed that she was allegedly groped by a fan during a meet-and-greet before her recent show. Morris, who has been performing in support of her latest studio album “Dreamsicle,” released on May 9, told followers that while the shocking incident left her uncomfortable, she has no plans to cancel future meet-and-greets.<\/p>\n

The Grammy winner did not identify the individual but made it clear she will not allow the situation to end the popular fan experience. \u201cI\u2019m going to continue them because one person shouldn\u2019t ruin it for everyone,\u201d she assured her followers.<\/p>\n

Morris also offered fans guidance for future meet-and-greets, stressing the importance of respecting boundaries. \u201cPlease know I\u2019m there to connect, share, hug [and] all the things,\u201d she explained. \u201cBut, please don\u2019t override someone\u2019s personal space. Appearing on the “Armchair Expert” podcast<\/a> with Dax Shepard<\/a> on September 25 last year, the Grammy winner opened up about how she and Hurd are navigating co-parenting their now 5-year-old son, Hayes Andrew.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, we\u2019re getting it together, but the co-parenting thing has been going well, and we\u2019re trying our best in this way, but it\u2019s still pretty fresh,\u201d Morris admitted. The couple finalized their divorce in January 2024 after five years of marriage.<\/p>\n

Since the split, Morris said she\u2019s felt \u201cdeeply creative,\u201d noting that leaving the country genre has given her both new inspiration and a sense of freedom. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot to write about, but, like, a freedom too,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to be able to connect with my fans and my queer community,\u201d Morris shared of coming out in 2024. \u201cEspecially in a time where you\u2019re in this free-for-all post-divorce reckoning, community has been so necessary for me and life-saving. Being honest and being vulnerable is the only way that you find community.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to explain that while she has always been attracted to both men and women, her straight relationships, and the pressures of the Nashville music industry, kept her from speaking about it sooner. \u201cI\u2019ve always known that I am attracted to men and women,\u201d she admitted. \u201cI think because I\u2019ve been in straight relationships the last 15 years of my life, which has been consumed by my music career and living in Nashville, I never felt brave enough to talk about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Brittany posted on Instagram about being \u201cthankful\u201d her parents didn\u2019t \u201cchange [her] gender\u201d during her \u201ctomboy phase,\u201d she went on to spread misinformation about gender-affirming care. Morris quickly fired back on X (formerly Twitter), writing: \u201cIt\u2019s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.\u201d<\/p>\n

The remark instantly went viral, earning Morris both backlash and praise.<\/p>\n
