Local housebuilder Barratt David Wilson Homes South Wales<\/a> has today (14 July) announced a \u00a314,000 donation from the Barratt Foundation<\/a>, to The Gathering Place<\/a> \u2014 a Methodist church and community centre in St Athan, Vale of Glamorgan.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The donation will fund a huge Wi-Fi upgrade for the local hub \u2014 ensuring the community has access to a shared resource that will not only improve connectivity but foster economic growth and digital inclusion.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The donation also covers Wi-Fi costs for the next three years, ensuring the hub has one less thing to worry about during the ongoing cost of living crisis*\u2014 which is causing struggles for many similar centres.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is the second donation Barratt has made to the community local to its Parc Fferm Wen<\/a> development \u2014 which offers a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes in a scenic countryside location. Indeed, earlier this month, the housebuilder supported the rebuild of St Athan Primary School, after a roof fire left part of the school closed to pupils.<\/p>\n

Charity champion for Barratt Developments,<\/a> Lewis Allwood, said: \u201cBoth St Athan Primary School and The Gathering Place are vital local spaces that cultivate and support people of all ages \u2014 from young children in the community to those in more vulnerable situations.<\/p>\n

Each year it donates \u00a34m+ to charities alongside its Community Fund<\/a> \u2014 an initiative that offers donations to organisations that work to improve the quality of life for those living in the area local to Barratt developments.<\/p>\n
