WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) \u2013 A tee time was set for a special cause Sunday as dozens of golfers gathered at Gateway Golf Course in Waterloo for the annual Woody\u2019s Toys Charity Golf Outing.<\/p>\n
The event, organized by Paul \u201cWoody\u201d Woodward, brought the community together not just for a round of golf, but to raise money and collect toys for children and families in need.<\/p>\n
For just $80, participants received green fees, a golf cart, lunch, raffle entries, and a chance at prizes. Each golfer also received a grand prize ticket, with plenty of fun games offered throughout the day.<\/p>\n
But organizers say the biggest reward is knowing the event supports two vital organizations: The Stead Family Children\u2019s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. Both located in Iowa City.<\/p>\n
In addition to a day of golf, attendees were encouraged to donate toys, gifts that Woody personally delivers to children at the hospital each December. He says the smiles on their faces make all the planning worthwhile.<\/p>\n
