on the \u201cPerformance People\u201d\u00a0podcast in 2023.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\u201cIt was kind of not actually for us, but it was just again thinking what other people are thinking about all the time and within the industry. It was kind of big news in our circle, so I was a little bit paranoid about all that, really. But not for any reason of our relationship, and I had full faith once we fell in love.\u201d<\/p>\n
The couple first met in 2015 through Fleetwood\u2019s brother, and Clare went on to serve as the golfer\u2019s agent before sparking a romantic relationship. They married two years later.<\/p>\n

\u2018We\u2019ve got a 23-year age difference,\u2019 she said when explaining why she turned him down in the early stages of their romance.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course, I turned him down. I was like, \u201cDon\u2019t be stupid.\u201d\u2018<\/p>\n
Clare has two older children from a previous marriage and a son with Fleetwood, Frankie, who lives with them in the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n
Clare still manages Tommy\u2019s golf career, which she says gives her a full picture of her husband.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know everything on every side \u2013 so there\u2019s the sponsorship side, the logistics side, the PR side, the accounts side, everything,\u201d Clare said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe sometimes too much, you know, because then that\u2019s all I think about sometimes, but that\u2019s just the different dynamic. I look at one question \u2013 it might have 15 answers for me. Do you know what I mean? It\u2019s a little bit more complicated for me because I see things, you know, like, are we going to live?<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t see it as a lifestyle choice necessarily, I\u2019ll look at it as a business choice as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Sunday, Fleetwood closed the tournament with 2-under 68 for a three-shot victory, to finally break through with the biggest title of his career.<\/p>\n
Fleetwood had blown final-round leads at the Traveler\u2019s Championship and St. Jude\u2019s Championship earlier this summer.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s easy to say you\u2019re resilient but it\u2019s hard when you have to be,\u201d Fleetwood said. \u201cI feel lucky I\u2019ve had to show that side of myself.
