The includes the rural surrounds and townlands of Newport, Birdhill and Greenhall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">31,000 premises in Co Tipperary are included in the State\u2019s Intervention Area, which will see NBI deliver minimum speeds of 500 megabits per second to homes, businesses, farms, and schools. As the biggest investment in rural Ireland since rural electrification, Co Tipperary will receive \u20ac118m of Government investment under the National Broadband Plan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">There are 1,103 Tipperary premises in the Newport deployment area that can join the NBI\u2122 network. National Broadband Ireland is calling on people living nearby to visit\u202fnbi.ie\/map\/\u202fand enter their Eircode to see if they are ready to connect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">Works have already been completed in other parts of Tipperary, including the rural surrounds of Clonmel, Nenagh and Tipperary town. There is a total of 26,338 premises that can now pre-order or order high-speed, reliable broadband across the county with 8,770\u202fconnections made so far.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">Network build works are also continuing across Tipperary with build works in progress for over 600 premises near the Birr deployment area near Borrisokane, due to be connected by the end of the year. Signing up to the NBI email notifications at\u202fhttps:\/\/nbi.ie\/eoi\/\u202fis the easiest way to get the most up-to-date status of premises during the rollout and when premises will be ready for order.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">TJ Malone, Chief Executive Officer, National Broadband Ireland,\u202fsaid:\u202f\u201cWe are delighted to announce that over 1,100 Tipperary premises in the Newport deployment area can now order high-speed broadband services through the NBI\u2122 network. This will enable those who connect to experience the life-changing benefits of high-speed broadband with minimum speeds of 500 megabits per second.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">\u201cOverall, over 26,300 homes, businesses and farms in Co Tipperary can now order a high-speed fibre connection to the NBI\u2122 network. This includes over 1,600 premises near Clonmel, almost 2,900 near Nenagh, and over 2,900 near Tipperary town. We are working hard on the ground to progress other areas of the county through engineering survey, design and construction phases. We are encouraging Tipperary residents to visit the NBI website to check their Eircode and sign up for updates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">National Rollout Progress<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">NBI has now passed over 381,000 homes, farms and businesses in rural Ireland with over 134,000 connected to high-speed broadband. Take-up rates already average 35% and continue to climb, approaching 60% in areas where the network has been live the longest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">Broadband Provider Choice<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">As a wholesale network operator, NBI does not sell\u202ffibre\u202fbroadband directly to end users, rather it enables services from a range of broadband providers. Over 50 different broadband providers are currently licensed to sell on the NBI\u2122 network &#8211; visit\u202fNBI.ie\/buy\u202fto see the range of providers in your area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">Broadband Connection Points<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">The NBP provides for the delivery of Broadband Connection Points (BCPs) which include sports clubs, community centres and tourist sites, with these locations providing free public access to high-speed internet in the rollout area. In addition to the Fibre-to-the-Home programme, BCPs pave the way for rural communities to receive the benefits of broadband, from mobile working, e-learning and mobile banking, to digital tourism.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ew-body\">Nationwide, 955 BCPs\u202fare now \u2018live\u2019.
