Carlos Alcaraz arrived in New York with a full head of hair, but has since gotten a haircut.

Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> made an impression at the US Open<\/a> Monday before even stepping on court for his first-round match against Reilly Opelka<\/a>.<\/p>\n The No. 2 player in the PIF ATP Rankings debuted a buzzcut, quickly drawing reaction from fans and players alike. The Spaniard even discussed it on site with golf star Rory McIlroy.<\/p>\n \u201cJust got a haircut that I struggled with,\u201d Alcaraz told McIlroy in a video captured by the US Open<\/a>. \u201cI had to start fresh.\u201d<\/p>\n When Frances Tiafoe<\/a> completed his first-round victory against Yoshihito Nishioka<\/a>, the haircut aficionado met Alcaraz in the cooldown gym and marveled at Alcaraz\u2019s new hairdo.<\/p>\n Tiafoe comes off court and gets his first look at the new cut for Carlos \ud83d\udc40 pic.twitter.com\/fxPCggV5Zz<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 US Open<\/a> Tennis (@usopen) August 25, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s definitely terrible. He’s my guy though. It’s funny. I looked at him and I was like, \u2018I guess you’re aerodynamic\u2019. Juan Carlos \u2018Mosquito\u2019 was laughing. He was like, \u2018Yeah, he’s faster than he already was\u2019. I was like, \u2018Well, that’s a problem\u2019,\u201d Tiafoe said. \u201cFrom a guy who gets haircuts week in, week out, and prides myself on good haircuts, it’s horrendous.<\/p>\n \u201cAt the end of the day, it’s Carlos, and that’s my guy. But yeah, he needs to get with me. He needs to get with me for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n
