\n He\u2019s only played one match at this year\u2019s US Open<\/a>, but Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> has already created a buzz.\n <\/p>\n \n The Spanish second seed arrived on court for his first-round match against American Reilly Opelka sporting a new \u2013 and pretty severe \u2013 haircut.\n <\/p>\n \n Clearly, the freshly-shorn Alcaraz hadn\u2019t been drawing any Samson-like strength from his hair because he overcame Opelka in straight sets \u2013 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 \u2013 to reach the second round.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI felt like my hair was really long already, and before the tournament, I just really wanted to get a haircut,\u201d he told reporters. \u201cSuddenly, my brother just \u2013 he misunderstood with the machine. He just cut it. Then the only way to fix it is just shave it off.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n New York, Alcaraz added, was too far for his usual barber, V\u00edctor Mart\u00ednez, to travel, and he joked that the unexpected buzzcut made him feel faster and more aerodynamic on the court.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cSome people like it. Some people don\u2019t like it,\u201d he said. \u201cTo be honest, I\u2019m just laughing about the reaction of the people. It is what it is.
