\n\tNetflix<\/a>\u2019s KPop Demon Hunters<\/a> can add another milestone to the list of accomplishments over a remarkable summer run: It\u2019s now the streamer\u2019s most viewed movie ever. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe animated hit drew 25.4 million views worldwide in the week of Aug. 18-24, bumping its total up to 236 million since its June 20 premiere, based on Netflix\u2019s internal data. That was enough to push KPop Demon Hunters past Red Notice and into first place on Netflix\u2019s all-time rankings for English-language films. (Netflix\u2019s all-time top 10s are based on views in a title\u2019s first 91 days of release.) <\/p>\n

\n\tRed Notice, an action comedy starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds released in November 2021, had held the No. 1 all-time spot for movies for more than three years. It drew 230.9 million views (total viewing time divided by run time) over its first 13 weeks.<\/p>\n

\n\tKPop Demon Hunters ascends to No. 1 on Netflix\u2019s all-time movie charts in the same week that it scored a box office win<\/a> with a sing-along version released in theaters. Netflix isn\u2019t officially reporting box office revenue for the weekend, but it made between $17 million and $18 million over the Aug. 22-24 weekend, which would put the movie ahead of Weapons at $15.4 million. (The sing-along version of the film is also streaming<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film chronicles the adventures of Huntrix, a three-member girl group that secretly fight monsters from the underworld. The girls spend the film contending against the newly formed Saja Boys, a K-pop boy group made up of demons meant to steal the souls of fans and take down Huntrix. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe movie also has a hit soundtrack<\/a>, which also shot to the top of music charts. KPop Demon Hunter\u2019s lead song, \u201cGolden,\u201d hit No. 1<\/a> on the Billboard Hot 100 two weeks ago, regaining its top position this week after dipping to second place last week. Huntrix is the first girl group to top the Hot 100 since Destiny\u2019s Child in 2001. The film currently has four songs in the top 10 of the chart \u2013 \u201cYour Idol\u201d at No. 4, \u201cSoda Pop\u201d at No. 5 and \u201cHow It\u2019s Done\u201d at No. 10. <\/p>\n

\n\tOn Netflix, KPop Demon Hunters has been unerringly consistent in the 10 weeks since its release. After posting 9.2 million views for its opening weekend, the movie has not fallen below 22.7 million views in any week since.
