Fall 2025 A.D., to be precise.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas, the film tells the dark story of a family hiding out in Roman Egypt. \u201cKnown only as \u2018the Boy\u2019, the son is driven to doubt by another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, revealing inherent powers and a fate beyond his comprehension. As he exercises his own power, the Boy and his family become the target of horrors both natural and divine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith\u00a0The Carpenter\u2019s Son, Lotfy Nathan has delivered a genre-bending spectacle that defies expectations at every turn,\u201c said Magnolia Pictures co-CEOs Eamonn Bowles and Dori Begley <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/05\/nicolas-cage-the-carpenters-son-magnolia-1236391880\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">previously<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The genre-bending Jesus film is written and directed by Lotfy Nathan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nicolas Cage will play the titular Carpenter, with FKA twigs as Mother and A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place II\u2019s Noah Jupe as the Boy.
