{"id":114211,"date":"2025-08-27T17:13:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T17:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/114211\/"},"modified":"2025-08-27T17:13:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T17:13:07","slug":"former-discovery-exec-will-be-cfo-of-new-warner-bros","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/114211\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Discovery Exec Will Be CFO Of New Warner Bros."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/warner-bros-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_warner-bros-2\" data-tag=\"warner-bros-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Warner Bros.<\/a> Discovery is bringing in <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/brad-singer\/\" id=\"auto-tag_brad-singer\" data-tag=\"brad-singer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brad Singer<\/a>, former CFO of Discovery Communications, as chief financial officer of the slimmed down studio and streaming company to be called simply Warner Bros. after <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/07\/warner-bros-discovery-separates-new-leadership-1236472293\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a planned separation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWarner Bros. will split from WBD\u2019s global linear networks by mid-2026. Singer will begin in his new position in October of 2025 in a strategic role until the transaction is official.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHe will report to WBD CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/david-zaslav\/\" id=\"auto-tag_david-zaslav\" data-tag=\"david-zaslav\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Zaslav<\/a> (who will segue to chief executive of the new Warner Bros.) overseeing global financial functions and strategies including financial planning and analysis, accounting, internal audit, treasury, tax, procurement and investor relations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWBD\u2019s current CFO <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/gunnar-wiedenfels\/\" id=\"auto-tag_gunnar-wiedenfels\" data-tag=\"gunnar-wiedenfels\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gunnar Wiedenfels<\/a> is set to become CEO of WBD\u2019s other half, called <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/discovery-global\/\" id=\"auto-tag_discovery-global\" data-tag=\"discovery-global\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Discovery Global<\/a>. Both will be publicly traded companies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAs CFO of Discovery Communications, Singer played a key role in taking the company public in 2008. He was most recently partner and COO of ValueAct Capital before retiring in 2021, during which time he also served on the boards of Rolls-Royce and Motorola. He previously served as CFO and Treasurer of American Tower and as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHe currently sits on the boards of Warby Parker and Sweetgreen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cBrad was instrumental in driving significant value creation and growth during our time together at Discovery Communications, and I\u2019m thrilled to be reuniting with a trusted leader whose financial expertise and strategic vision have consistently delivered results,\u201d said Zaslav. \u201cHis proven track record combined with his sharp understanding of emerging technologies and evolving consumer trends will make him a tremendous addition to the new Warner Bros. leadership team.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Warner Bros.
