Not everyone was a fan of this summer\u2019s Club World Cup, but Chelsea and Todd Boehly certainly were.<\/p>\n

Under Enzo Maresca<\/a>, Chelsea<\/a> were able to win the tournament and earn a huge amount of cash in the process.<\/p>\n

Despite beating Paris Saint-Germain in the final, the champions of Europe, the Blues are not getting carried away. It is thought that Chelsea\u2019s goal for the new season<\/a> is still just Champions League qualification.<\/p>\n

As things stand, Chelsea would need to win that very competition in the next four years to guarantee a place in the 2029 Club World Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail<\/a>, Gianni Infantino and the rest of FIFA are currently in the process of reviewing how to make the Club World Cup even better.<\/p>\n

Their review includes deciding whether Chelsea should be invited back to defend their trophy, meaning that the Blues may not need to rely on winning the Champions League or their UEFA coefficient after all.<\/p>\n

That would be great news for Boehly<\/a> and Behdad Eghbali<\/a>, who will want the club to compete in the tournament\u2019s next edition after all of the money that was won this year.<\/p>\n

As per Sky Sports<\/a>, Chelsea took home \u00a385m after managing to win the whole thing in the US last month.<\/p>\n

Playing all of those extra games may have an impact on Chelsea\u2019s squad. Injury expert Ben Dinnery has told The Chelsea Chronicle that supporters may not see the best of Chelsea<\/a> until November or December because of their participation at the Club World Cup.<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, though, the money was too good to turn down and it will be exactly the same case in 2029.<\/p>\n

One reason why Chelsea were able to lift the Club World Cup trophy was because of Joao Pedro<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pedro arrived from Brighton & Hove Albion midway through the competition and scored in the semi-finals and the final.<\/p>\n

Pedro earned \u00a3350,000<\/a> for his contribution, as did the rest of the Chelsea team.
