{"id":115099,"date":"2025-08-28T01:30:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T01:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/115099\/"},"modified":"2025-08-28T01:30:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T01:30:07","slug":"burglar-arrested-after-breaking-into-womans-canyon-country-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/115099\/","title":{"rendered":"Burglar Arrested After Breaking Into Woman&#8217;s Canyon Country Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\tA Canyon Country man was arrested after he allegedly broke into a woman\u2019s home in the early hours of Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Around 3:10 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a residence in the 19700 block of Merryhill Street in Canyon Country, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lasd.org\/santa-clarita-valley\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff\u2019s Station<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe victim, a 54-year-old female, reported hearing a noise and discovered a male suspect inside her living room,\u201d Miller said. \u201cThe suspect fled the residence prior to the arrival of deputies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When deputies arrived, they put out a description of the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies searching the area located a man matching the wanted person\u2019s description and detained him.<\/p>\n<p>Chaz Karratti, 30, from Canyon Country, was identified as the person who broke into the home and was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hometownstation.com\/santa-clarita-news\/crime\/man-vandalizes-strangers-car-in-valencia-out-of-frustration-562087\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">arrested<\/a> for felony burglary, according to Miller.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Karratti was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff\u2019s station jail, and remained in custody as of Tuesday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nSponsored Articles\n<\/p>\n<p>Do you have a news tip?
