IT HAPPENED AT A GAS STATION AT KAMMERER ROAD AND PROMENADE PARKWAY. THIS IS JUST WEST OF HIGHWAY 99, DOWN THE STREET FROM THE SKY RIVER CASINO. KCRA 3\u2019S PEYTON HEADLEE JUST ARRIVED. BUT AS FAR AS THE SCENE GOES, YOU CAN SEE THERE IS POLICE TAPE WRAPPED ALL AROUND THIS CHEVRON GAS STATION. IF YOU LOOK IN TOWARDS THE GAS PUMPS, SPECIFICALLY PUMP FIVE THERE YOU CAN SEE SOME EVIDENCE MARKERS ON THE GROUND. AND THEN FURTHER DOWN THE GAS STATION YOU CAN SEE SOME DETECTIVES, SOME OFFICERS SURROUNDING A CAR THAT HAS ITS TRUNK OPEN AND A NUMBER OF ELK GROVE POLICE VEHICLES A LITTLE BIT FURTHER DOWN. OF COURSE, RIGHT NOW WE ARE JUST ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE SKY RIVER CASINO. SO WE KNOW THAT THIS CALL CAME IN AROUND 745 TONIGHT. ONE PERSON WAS HURT IN THE SHOOTING. WE\u2019RE TOLD IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE RANDOM. THAT PERSON WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL WHERE THEIR CONDITION, WE\u2019RE TOLD THEY ARE EXPECTED TO BE OKAY. NOW, THE POLICE DEPARTMENT SAYS THE SUSPECT IN THIS SHOOTING LEFT THE AREA. AND OF COURSE, DETECTIVES ARE HERE ON SCENE INVESTIGATING.
