\n\tFlynn Gray, Matt Smith<\/a>, Mia Goth<\/a>, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings and Amy Adams have officially been set to\u00a0join\u00a0Ryan Gosling<\/a>\u00a0in Lucasfilm\u2019s\u00a0Star Wars: Starfighter<\/a>. Shawn Levy is directing the pic, which was penned by Jonathan Tropper.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI feel a profound sense of excitement and honor as we begin production on\u00a0Star Wars: Starfighter,\u201d Levy said Thursday, when the casting news was revealed on Starwars.com, along with the news that production has begun in the UK. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe post also included a first look at the set, with Gosling and Gray leaning and sitting, respectively, on what looks to be a landspeeder. See it above.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFrom the day Kathy Kennedy called me up, inviting me to develop an original adventure in this incredible\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0galaxy, this experience has been a dream come true, creatively and personally,\u201d Levy continued.\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0shaped my sense of what story can do, how characters and cinematic moments can live with us forever. To join this storytelling galaxy with such brilliant collaborators onscreen and off, is the thrill of a lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is set to bow on May 28, 2027. Levy produces with Kennedy. Executive producers are Gosling, Dan Levine, Mary McLaglen and Josh McLaglen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tDetails of\u00a0Starfighter<\/a>\u00a0were unveiled in April at the Star Wars Celebration event in Tokyo. The film is set five years after the events of\u00a0Star Wars: Episode IX \u2014 The Rise of Skywalker, which concluded the Skywalker saga and currently stands as the final feature chronologically on the\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0timeline.<\/p>\n
