\n\tEXCLUSIVE: The Saturday Night Live<\/a> exit carousel continues with Michael Longfellow<\/a> becoming the latest cast member to leave.<\/p>\n

\n\tLongfellow joined the show as a featured player in Season 48<\/a> and was promoted to the main cast ahead of Season 50.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe joins Devon Walker,<\/a> who joined at the same time, and Emil Wakim<\/a>, who are also both leaving ahead of Season 51. More are expected to depart before the season starts. <\/p>\n

\n\tLongfellow\u2019s departure is somewhat of a surprise given that he was seemingly being primed to take over the Weekend Update desk at some point after some successful stints behind the desk, joking about topics such as TikTok<\/a> and Real ID<\/a>. He even appeared on Weekend Update on his first ever show (see below).<\/p>\n

\n\tIn May, he joked that he wasn\u2019t on the show much in Season 50. \u00a0\u201cI work like 12 hours a week. When you love your job, it never feels like work. No, I\u2019m just not in that much stuff this season. It\u2019s fine, I walk around, they don\u2019t really keep tabs on your whereabouts here,\u201d he joked on Weekend Update alongside Colin Jost.<\/p>\n

\n\tHis departure comes as creator Lorne Michaels shakes up the cast ahead of Season 51. Writers Celeste Yim and Rosebud Baker have also departed.<\/p>\n

\n\tOutside of SNL<\/a>, Longfellow starred in Good Burger 2, and he is a touring stand-up, having appeared on the Netflix is a Joke festival, as well as on NBC comedy reality series Bring The Funny, which was hosted by his future colleague Kenan Thompson. <\/p>\n
