{"id":117167,"date":"2025-08-28T23:43:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T23:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/117167\/"},"modified":"2025-08-28T23:43:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T23:43:10","slug":"dolphins-spotted-in-old-saybrook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/117167\/","title":{"rendered":"Dolphins spotted in Old Saybrook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">OLD SAYBROOK, CT (WFSB) &#8211; Dolphins appeared in Long Island Sound this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Channel 3 viewer Al recorded video of what looked like a pod breaching the water near the jetty in Old Saybrook.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The video was sent in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfsb.com\/page\/apps\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wfsb.com\/page\/apps\">WFSB News App<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Earlier this month, Patch reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/connecticut\/greenwich\/around-100-dolphins-spotted-long-island-sound-greenwich-stamford\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/connecticut\/greenwich\/around-100-dolphins-spotted-long-island-sound-greenwich-stamford\">about 100 dolphins were spotted<\/a> in the Sound near Greenwich. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the Sound is <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.ct.gov\/deep\/boating\/clean-marina\/respect-wildlife\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/portal.ct.gov\/deep\/boating\/clean-marina\/respect-wildlife\">occasionally visited by dolphins<\/a>, porpoises and whales.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">DEEP said it is illegal to touch, feed, disturb, harass, capture, or kill marine mammals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WFSB.
