Jannik Sinner and Roger Federer sadly never met on the ATP Tour, but the pair would undoubtedly have played out a thrilling match on the court.<\/p>\n

Federer helped \u2018change tennis\u2019<\/a>, with his stunning career involving 20 Grand Slam titles and 103 ATP<\/a> titles in total.<\/p>\n

And Sinner<\/a> is now on tallies of four and 20 respectively, having just clinched his maiden Wimbledon title in London.<\/p>\n

Sinner winning Wimbledon is good for tennis<\/a>, and means he and Carlos Alcaraz have combined to win each of the last seven Grand Slams.<\/p>\n

Novak Djokovic represents the most recent champion outside of the duo, having previously dominated men\u2019s tennis alongside Rafael Nadal and Federer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And another former player has now discussed what a meeting between current world number one Sinner and former world number one Federer could look like.<\/p>\n

John Isner said on the Nothing Major Show: \u201cWhat a dream match-up prime Federer vs Sinner would be right now.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Fed dicing the second serve return, serve volleying as well. I like Fed, the legend. But that would be a dream match-up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Isner\u2019s fellow former professional and fellow American Steve Johnson then commented: \u201cI like Fed in that!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Sinner has maintained his spot atop the ATP rankings following his Wimbledon success, where he really was in formidable form.<\/p>\n

Fierce rival Alcaraz was defeated in the final at SW19, after the Italian knocked out the likes of Djokovic and Ben Shelton.<\/p>\n

Analysing his latest efforts, Isner noted of Sinner: \u201cI think a lot of credit needs to go to his coach Darren Cahill. That dude can coach.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe admitted that something that they did work on a lot was going forward, coming in to the net more and trying to finish points at the net when they first started working.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo or three years ago when they first started doing it he didn\u2019t look as comfortable. But he looked pretty comfortable [here].<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe it\u2019s not the favourite part of his game but he looks pretty comfortable going forward, he has improved so much since he started working with Cahill.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also talked about how good he is from the back of the court, especially in that match against Ben, when they essentially got into a baseline game and neutral ball rallies, Ben didn\u2019t really have any chance.<\/p>\n

\u201cBen is playing great from the baseline and Carlos even said during the match he was saying \u2018he is much better than me on the baseline, he is playing much better than me\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean Sinner right now from the back of the court, you have to say, there is nobody better in the world. That is the reason why he is number one in the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s him, Novak and Carlos, the three best players from the back of the court, but I think Sinner might be separating himself a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Intriguingly, the world number one and his coach had previously decided to part ways at the end of the season.<\/p>\n
