Now they\u2019re paying \u20ac90m (\u00a378m).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe prices are very inflated, which is certainly also due to the fact that Liverpool want Alexander Isak \u2013 and will probably get him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe German clubs would be well advised not to go along with this madness, because this transfer fee is completely unfounded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hamann clearly feels Newcastle have overpaid by \u00a326m to sign Woltemade.<\/p>\n<p>However, in a difficult striker market where Brentford want \u00a360m for Yoane Wissa and Wolves demand \u00a370m for Jorgen Strand Larsen, you can see why Newcastle have offered to pay so much for the 23-year-old, who many in Germany consider to be the nation\u2019s leading No.9 in future. <\/p>\n<p>TBR Football understand <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/whether-newcastle-will-sign-strand-larsen-or-wissa-after-nick-woltemade-agreement\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Newcastle do still plan to sign another striker<\/a> having released Callum Wilson earlier this summer, with Wissa or Larsen the most likely to follow Woltemade. <\/p>\n<p>Numbers suggest Nick Woltemade could be better than Alexander Isak<\/p>\n<p>It is important to note that Isak only scored six goals for Real Sociedad across 32 appearances in La Liga throughout the 2021\/22 campaign, before Newcastle spent \u00a363m to sign him at the age of 22.<\/p>\n<p>In comparison, Woltemade \u2013 aged 23 \u2013 scored 12 goals in 28 Bundesliga appearances last season, double the amount the Swede managed before his lucrative move to Tyneside in fewer games.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, many other variables must be taken into account \u2013 such as how quickly Woltemade can settle in England.<\/p>\n<p>However, these numbers suggest he could end up being even better than Isak for Newcastle. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Newcastle are close to signing Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart.
