\n\tThe 2025 Emmy nominations<\/a> are here, and while plenty of heavy hitters received the expected nods, there were also a ton of unexpected moments. From the A-list actors who were passed over to the Cinderella stories of the season, campaigning is sure to heat up before the Sept. 14 ceremony. Check out Variety\u2019s list of the biggest snubs and surprises from nomination morning below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\t\tSurprise: No \u2018Last of Us\u2019 Season 2 Fatigue\u00a0for the Show\u2019s Key Players\t<\/p>\n

\n\tFirst season leads Pedro Pascal<\/a> and Bella Ramsey, who received nominations last year, also picked up nods this season, despite a rockier reception to the second season and an early change in Pascal\u2019s status.<\/p>\n

\t\tSnub: Patrick Schwarzenegger, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola and Leslie Bibb Didn\u2019t Check Into the Awards Race With \u2018White Lotus\u2019 Co-Stars\u00a0\t<\/p>\n

\n\tThere was never going to be enough room for everyone in the f\u00eated cast to have a shot, so these absences read more as a volume issue than an acting critique. (And a ton of their co-stars did make the cut in both supporting and guest categories.)<\/p>\n

\t\tSurprise: \u2018The Pitt\u2019 Supporting Players May Have Split the Vote\u00a0\t<\/p>\n

\n\tAs sometimes happens with buzzy shows with huge casts, it seems likely that some of \u201cThe Pitt\u201d cast members might have canceled each other out, including Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones and Tracy Ifeachor. Katherine LaNasa was the only supporting nod with Shawn Hatosy picking up a guest actor nomination.<\/p>\n

\t\tSnub: Elisabeth Moss not nominated for the last season of \u2018The Handmaid\u2019s Tale\u2019\t<\/p>\n

\n\tAlthough it was the sixth and final season of the prestigious series \u2014 which she had been nominated for outstanding lead actress in a drama series four times and won once \u2014\u00a0Moss didn\u2019t receive a nod for the series\u2019 end.<\/p>\n

\t\tSurprise: \u2018The Residence\u2019 Star Uzo Aduba Scores Even Though Netflix Cancelled the Series\t<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Netflix doesn\u2019t want any more episodes of the mystery series, the Television Academy awarded Aduba\u2019s sly lead performance.<\/p>\n

\t\tSurprise: Meghann Fahy gets a nod for \u201cSirens\u201d\t<\/p>\n

\n\tFahy\u2019s punky, inquisitive role was not overlooked, despite the series\u2019 short episode count.<\/p>\n

\t\tSnub: Seth Meyers\u2019 Anti-Trump Comedy Didn\u2019t Move the Needle\u00a0\t<\/p>\n

\n\tMeyers devoted the most time of any late-night show to slamming the president, but either out of political fatigue or fear of Trump\u2019s hold over media, voters chose not to give him a nod.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\t\tSurprise: \u2018The Voice\u2019 Stumbles for the First Time in More Than a Decade\u00a0\t<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singing competition has received an outstanding reality competition program nod every year since 2012 and has won four times along the way \u2014 yet it was boxed out this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\t\tSnub: \u2018Agatha All Along\u2019 Missed in All Acting Categories\t<\/p>\n

\n\tKathryn Hahn and the cast couldn\u2019t conjure up any magic in the above-the-line nominations.<\/p>\n

\t\tSnub: Tina Fey\u2019s Buzzy \u201cThe Four Seasons\u201d Only Lands One Nomination\t<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Colman Domingo got a supporting actor nod, Fey, a Television Academy darling, couldn\u2019t make more waves with her most recent project.<\/p>\n

\t\tSnub: Paul Giamatti Can\u2019t Jump in With \u2018Black Mirror\u2019\u00a0\t<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite anchoring one of the most emotional episodes of the series, Giamatti \u2014 who previously won an Emmy for the 2008 miniseries \u201cJohn Adams\u201d \u2014 didn\u2019t draw enough attention to his understated performance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\t\tSnub: \u2018Yellowjackets\u2019 Comes Up Empty-Handed.\t<\/p>\n

\n\tThe survival series was DOA with the Television Academy.<\/p>\n

\t\tSurprise: No Acting Love for \u2018Andor\u2019\u00a0\t<\/p>\n

\n\tDiego Luna, Adria Arjona and Genevieve O\u2019Reilly felt like shoo-ins for their great work during this epic second season, but no one from this galaxy far, far away was celebrated.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\t\tSnub: \u2018The Bear\u2019 Creator Chris Storer left out of the race.\t<\/p>\n

\n\tStorer may have won four Emmys<\/a> for his work on the show, but that streak has come to an end.<\/p>\n
