When out in the forest, campers, hikers, and hunters are forced to be hyper aware of their surroundings as just one decision can change everything.<\/p>\n
Shalee Super quickly learned that when not one but two bears decided to explore the campsite.<\/p>\n
She tells us \u201cAnd before I really even had time to think in that moment, because we were so close, really face to face, I just pulled the trigger on the bear spray and hope for the best. And luckily it did deter him. It put him back probably like 30-35ft, which gave me an opening to, to get out of the tent. \u201d<\/p>\n
Shalee is a full time travel vlogger with a primary home in Wyoming. She had documented the attack and posted the video to social media.<\/p>\n
So far, the Facebook video has almost 2 million views.<\/p>\n
She was camping with her husband in a tent in British Columbia.<\/p>\n
Shalee tells they knew bear frequented the area, and had seen evidence they were there.<\/p>\n
She adds that they were lucky the bears were just curious, and not aggressive, but a decision she made the night before could have changed the outcome.<\/p>\n
Shalee tells us \u201cEarlier that night, I actually didn\u2019t know where my bear spray was. I had woken up and was like, where is it? And, like, felt around the tent to find it. And I always think of like, why did I do that?\u201d<\/p>\n
Shalee tells us that this experience doesn\u2019t change how she approaches she travels, adding that there is a risk with everything people do, adding \u201cIt\u2019s just one of those risks that you take when it\u2019s something you enjoy doing. \u201d<\/p>\n
That said, she did admit she will be on edge the next time to travels to bear country.<\/p>\n
