In the morning of August 31, world leaders discussed the prospect of a trilateral meeting between the United States, Ukraine and Russia: Donald Trump stated that such a format is theoretically possible, but American troops in Ukraine would not participate; he expressed a desire to speed up the peace process, while warning that not everyone is ready for such steps.<\/p>\n
\u201cA trilateral meeting is possible. I don\u2019t know about a bilateral (between Zelensky and Putin \u2013 editor\u2019s note), but a trilateral one with me will take place. But people are not always ready for this\u201d<\/p>\n

Liberation of Myrne near Kupiansk<\/p>\n
The Armed Forces of Ukraine, during operations to reclaim occupied territories, liberated Myrne near Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast according to updated DeepState maps as of August 29. The village is now no longer under the control of the occupiers, and a nearby road leading to the city allows Ukrainian units to move without hindrance.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs of now, the Russians have been pushed out of Myrne. There is no information about wounded or killed Russians. The military are moving further\u201d<\/p>\n

Poland deported 15 Ukrainians and banned them from entering for 10 years<\/p>\n
Poland deported 15 Ukrainian citizens and imposed a ten-year ban on entry to the country. Officially the deportation was explained by the fact that those deported posed a threat to public safety and order; border guards noted that among those deported were individuals with grounds for taking life and offenses.<\/p>\n

EU: Frozen assets of Russia remain blocked and sanctions pressure increases<\/p>\n
The European Union agreed that Russia\u2019s frozen assets would not be unblocked until full compensation for Ukraine\u2019s losses. Ministers also considered options for further sanctions and tools to strengthen pressure on the Russian Federation, including measures on Russian imports and oil sales.<\/p>\n

Europe expresses condolences over the death of Andriy Parubiy<\/p>\n
In Europe, condolences were expressed regarding the tragic death of the former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy. EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Maternova, the heads of the Polish and Lithuanian foreign ministries Radislav Sikorsky and Kestutis Budris, and also the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola stressed their deep shock at this news.<\/p>\n
