U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley previously said that his 12-man team<\/a> would be gathering in Napa, California, for the first tournament of the PGA Tour\u2019s FedEx Cup Fall<\/a> as a team building opportunity and to dust off any rust from the post-Tour Championship break before the Ryder Cup is held two weeks later.<\/p>\n

On Friday, 10 members of the U.S. Ryder Cup team officially committed to the Procore Championship, which will be held Sept. 11-14 at Silverado Resort\u2019s North Course. But the more interesting news would be who didn\u2019t register: Xander Schauffele.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old two-time major winner failed to make it to East Lake for the first time in his career and so had an additional one week, unpaid vacation. Asked at the BMW Championship if he planned to play at the Procore Championship, he said, \u201cI don’t know how many guys have signed up or not, but I wouldn’t say there’s an expectation for us to play, but a lot of us do want to play just to stay fresh, knock off some rust. I’ll have an even longer break, so we’ll see how that goes.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tournament is expecting to welcome one of the strongest fields in its history, as Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa, Cameron Young, Russell Henley, Harris English, Ben Griffin and Sam Burns have committed to compete at the annual Napa Valley tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to offer our fans the opportunity to watch some of the best stars on the PGA Tour compete,\u201d said Mike Damaso, the Chairman of Impact Through Golf Napa Valley.<\/p>\n

Scheffler, the world No. 1 and two-time major winner this year, will be making his Procore Championship debut. Spaun, the reigning U.S. Open champion,\u00a0is making his 10th\u00a0start at the Procore Championship this year.<\/p>\n

Thomas will be making his seventh start in Napa, having finished second in 2023.\u00a0Cantlay will return to his home state to compete in the Procore for the fifth time in his career. Morikawa, another California native, made his\u00a0last start at Napa in 2020, when he tied for 10th.\u00a0Young will play at Silverado for the first time since 2022.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Procore Championship will mark English\u2019s eighth appearance in the event while\u00a0Griffin returns to the for the first time since 2023. Burns will tee it up at the Procore Championship for the third time in his career, with his last appearance at Silverado Resort coming in 2021.<\/p>\n

Bryson DeChambeau is the only other member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team not playing Napa but he\u2019s banned from PGA Tour events after joining LIV Golf. DeChambeau had hoped that an exception would be made but it appears the Tour won\u2019t budge on his suspension.<\/p>\n

Efforts to reach Schauffele’s manager for confirmation of his plans weren’t answered before this story was published. PGA Tour members have until 5 p.m. ET\/2 p.m. PT on Friday, Sept. 5 to commit to the 2025 Procore Championship. So, it’s still possible that Schauffele could join his teammates. The full field will be announced later that day.<\/p>\n
