K-pop is taking over the United Kingdom\u2019s Official Singles Chart!<\/p>\n
For the week of August 28 to September 3, a record-breaking seven K-pop tracks landed in the top 40 of the Official Singles Chart (widely regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard\u2019s Hot 100 chart in the United States).<\/p>\n
Leading the pack was \u201cGolden,\u201d the long-running hit by the fictional girl group HUNTR\/X from the film \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d (sung by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami). \u201cGolden\u201d spent its fourth non-consecutive week at No. 1 on the chart, extending its own record as the K-pop song with the most weeks at the top.<\/p>\n
Once again, \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d charted three different songs in the top 10: in addition to \u201cGolden,\u201d fictional boy band Saja Boys\u2019 \u201cSoda Pop\u201d and \u201cYour Idol\u201d (both sung by Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, U-KISS\u2019s Kevin Woo, and samUIL Lee) stayed strong at No. 4 and No. 6 respectively.<\/p>\n
TWICE<\/a>\u2019s contributions to the \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d soundtrack also charted in the top 40 this week. Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung\u2019s version of \u201cTakedown\u201d rose to a new peak of No. 27, while the group\u2019s 2024 hit \u201cStrategy<\/a>\u201d (which was originally released last December but recently enjoyed a surge in popularity due to its inclusion on the \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d soundtrack) ranked No. 39.<\/p>\n Aside from the massively popular \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d soundtrack, both BLACKPINK<\/a> and Stray Kids<\/a> made the top 40 of the Official Singles Chart this week. BLACKPINK\u2019s latest single \u201cJUMP<\/a>\u201d took No. 29 in its seventh week on the chart, while Stray Kids\u2019 new title track \u201cCEREMONY<\/a>\u201d debuted at No. 37.<\/p>\n Source (1<\/a>)<\/p>\n
