ST. GEORGE \u2014 Three people were confirmed dead after a wrong-way driver caused a major crash, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
In an X post from the Utah Department of Transportation, the crash closed the northbound lane of Interstate 15, estimated to be open at 11:20 p.m.<\/p>\n
Crash \u2014 UDOT Traffic (@UDOTTRAFFIC) September 1, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n Sgt. Andrew Battenfield with UHP said a single vehicle got on Interstate 15 southbound at exit 5 in the northbound lanes.<\/p>\n Battenfield said the driver crashed into a 2019 Toyota Highlander head-on and died on the scene. The Department of Public Safety said the driver was a 90-year-old female.<\/p>\n DPS said the Toyota had four occupants, with the female driver and a male front-seat passenger who both died at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cTwo females in the back seat were transported by air to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,\u201d DPS said. \u201cBoth females are in their late teens to early 20s.\u201d<\/p>\n This is a breaking news story.
