After pulling out of this year\u2019s US Open, Kyrgios has now missed 11 of the last 12 Grand Slams, having only featured at the 2025 Australian Open. <\/p>\n

Kyrgios returned to action at the Washington Open<\/a> in July and played his first professional match since the Miami Open in March. <\/p>\n

The Australian partnered with ATP<\/a> veteran Gael Monfils<\/a> in the US capital, but bowed out in the first round to the team of Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Hugo Nys. <\/p>\n

After announcing he would not feature at Wimbledon, Kyrgios<\/a> was hoping to be ready to play singles during the North American hard-court swing, but suffered another setback in his fitness. <\/p>\n

Amid injury struggles that have kept him sidelined during the US Open<\/a>, the 30-year-old has taken to social media to self-reflect.<\/p>\n

In a post on his Instagram story, Kyrgios uploaded a photo of himself in action, pain-free, with the caption: \u201cThis picture reminds me of how things can change so quickly. <\/p>\n

\u201cI played my best tennis and was right there knocking on the door of a [Grand] Slam. And suddenly my body broke.<\/p>\n

\u201cSidelined, it was all taken, though it was one of the hardest things, that\u2019s life. <\/p>\n

\u201cCherish every moment, but at the same time realise that when you have it all figured out, things can change in an instant.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kyrgios has played just five singles matches on the ATP Tour this season, featuring at four events earlier in the season. <\/p>\n

He kicked off 2025 with a first-round exit at the Brisbane International before entering his home Grand Slam, the Australian Open, appearing at a major for the first time since the 2022 US Open. <\/p>\n

In round one, Kyrgios crashed out of the tournament after suffering defeat to Britain\u2019s Jacob Fearnley in straight sets.<\/p>\n
