target=\"_blank\">Swiatek dominated in her final against Amanda Anisimova<\/a>, enabling her to win a first title of any sort in over a year.<\/p>\n<p>The Pole had endured a relatively challenging season up to that point, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/iga-swiatek-and-amanda-anisimova-discover-fate-as-new-wta-rankings-are-released-after-wimbledon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Swiatek has now climbed back up the WTA rankings<\/a> following her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wimbledon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wimbledon<\/a> victory.<\/p>\n<p>Despite her triumph at the grass court major, there were two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wta\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WTA<\/a> players who actually hit more winners than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/iga-swiatek\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Swiatek<\/a> at Wimbledon this year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" during her run to the Wimbledon title, with only 10 of those coming in her final victory over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/amanda-anisimova\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anisimova<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This puts her in third overall for the women\u2019s singles event at Wimbledon this year, sitting ahead of Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/belinda-bencic\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Belinda Bencic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, she is some way behind the top two in that leaderboard, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/aryna-sabalenka\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aryna Sabalenka<\/a> out ahead after hitting 185 winners.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/amanda-anisimova-messages-aryna-sabalenka-on-instagram-after-their-wimbledon-semifinal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sabalenka was beaten in the semifinals by Anisimova<\/a>, who sits in second in this statistic with 172 winners.<\/p>\n<p>Who hit the most winners in the men\u2019s singles tournament at Wimbledon this year?<\/p>\n<p>There is a similar situation in the men\u2019s singles draw, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/jannik-sinner-sends-thank-you-message-to-carlos-alcaraz-on-social-media-a-day-after-winning-wimbledon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner<\/a> only hitting the fifth highest number of winners in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Three of the four players above <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sinner<\/a> reached at least the semifinals, with runner-up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> hitting more winners than anyone else with 284.<\/p>\n<p>However, one of the players to be above Sinner was knocked out in the fourth round, with the big-serving Nicolas Jarry hitting 257 winners before being knocked out by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/cam-norrie\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cameron Norrie<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>S<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/jannik-sinner-confirms-the-tactic-he-was-using-which-helped-him-to-beat-carlos-alcaraz-and-win-the-wimbledon-title\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">inner spoke about trying to be aggressive against Alcaraz<\/a> in the Wimbledon final, but these statistics suggest that his lack of errors have played a bigger part in his run to a fourth major title.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, it was actually Sinner who hit both more winners and unforced errors against Alcaraz.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Iga Swiatek won
