If there’s one thing that all animals enjoy, it’s getting a treat. Honestly, most of us humans feel the same way, too! Wildlife Rescuers shared an adorable video of a rescued baby elephant demanding a treat from their caretaker, and it will totally make your day!<\/p>\n
Make sure your sound is on for this one because the audio is just as cute as the impatient elephant himself! Using his trunk to get the caretaker\u2019s attention, he’s not politely asking for a treat; it\u2019s more like an adorable demand, like he’s saying, “I want it, and I want it now”!<\/p>\n

Commenter @Maleesha Loree was as surprised as we were, “Wow, I did not know that about the tips of their trunk!”<\/p>\n The Conversation<\/a> explains more, “An elephant uses its trunk for eating, drinking water, communicating<\/a>, exploring the environment, social behavior<\/a>, and making and using tools. The trunk, which contains six muscle groups, but can be used with great precision. Elephants use a number of techniques to grasp objects, including suction, pinching with the two \u201cfingers\u201d at the tip of the trunk and wrapping the trunk around the object.”<\/p>\n The same article describes the ‘fingers’, “The tip of an elephant\u2019s trunk comprises two finger-like protuberances: a pointy one at the top and a more rounded and shorter one underneath.”<\/p>\n They also talked about a study done to see how strong these fingers are<\/a>, “We measured a maximum pinch force of 86.4 Newton. A newton, the international unit for measuring force, corresponds to the force that gives a mass of one kilogram an acceleration of one metre per second squared. By comparison, the maximum pinch force between the thumb and index finger in humans is between\u00a049 and 68 Newton.
