Howard Stern will allegedly not be returning to his SiriusXM show<\/a> this Tuesday \u2014 despite earlier saying he would after his summer break.<\/p>\n

Stern, 71, allegedly broke the news to his 95 employees in an unexpected email on Labor Day evening, according to the Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sources told the outlet that the radio host carefully crafted the \u201cout of the blue\u201d email to be reassuring and prevent panic.<\/p>\n

Stern \u2014 whose $500M, five-year contract with SiriusXM expires at the end of this year<\/a> \u2014 allegedly decided to miss Tuesday\u2019s show, over \u201cfrustrations over the new contract,\u201d sources said.<\/p>\n

Last month, The Post exclusively reported SiriusXM would not be renewing<\/a> his contract. <\/p>\n

The famed shock jock is also believed to be grappling with family health issues, most notably the reported decline of his mother, Ray Schiffman Stern, who turns 98 in October, the Daily Mail reported.<\/p>\n

Stern admitted on his show back in February 2022 that his mother\u2019s health issues had caused him much distress.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt rips my heart out. I don\u2019t want my mom to be uncomfortable. I just want to fix her,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so tired and exhausted. Think of five other words for exhausted and tired and that\u2019s what I am. I\u2019m so depressed. I mentioned this on the air yesterday that my mom\u2019s not doing well. She\u2019s just in a lot of pain, you know? Physical pain.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Post has reached out to Stern\u2019s reps and SiriusXM for comment.<\/p>\n

The host promised to return to his regular schedule on Sept. 2, with no indication of when he would be leaving.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll be back on the air live. I\u2019ve been refueling, so to speak,\u201d Stern told his listeners.<\/p>\n

The second iteration of Stern\u2019s legendary show began in 2006 and was renewed by SiriusXM in 2020.<\/p>\n

Stern\u2019s audience has fallen from 20 million at its height to 125,000 daily listeners now.<\/p>\n
