{"id":127444,"date":"2025-09-02T14:52:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T14:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/127444\/"},"modified":"2025-09-02T14:52:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T14:52:08","slug":"howard-sterns-return-pushed-back-amid-siriusxm-contract-speculation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/127444\/","title":{"rendered":"Howard Stern&#8217;s Return Pushed Back Amid SiriusXM Contract Speculation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/howard-stern\/\" id=\"auto-tag_howard-stern\" data-tag=\"howard-stern\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Howard Stern<\/a>\u2018s first show back since a summer break has been delayed to next week, Sept. 8, amid questions of his future at <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/siriusxm\/\" id=\"auto-tag_siriusxm\" data-tag=\"siriusxm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SiriusXM<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe announcement was made in a social media post on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn August, Stern said that he would be back live just after Labor Day, after taking time off for \u201crefueling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOn the right, there <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/08\/trump-howard-stern-siriusxm-1236480629\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">were rumors that Stern was being canceled,<\/a> to the point that President <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" id=\"auto-tag_donald-trump\" data-tag=\"donald-trump\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Donald Trump<\/a> was asked about it, even though the host and SiriusXM had not announced his departure. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLast month, the show indicated on social media that Stern would return on Sept. 2, teasing the situation. \u201cFired? Retiring? Canceled? Bye-Bye Booey? Howard Stern will speak.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tStern and the satellite broadcaster signed a five-year agreement in 2020. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLast year, SiriusXM\u2019s Scott Greenstein said on an earnings call, \u201cAs for Howard, he\u2019s a singular talent. No one pretended when Johnny Carson or others retired that the new group would replace them. They were just simply filling in on those slots. So Howard, we hope he continues forever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNeither Stern nor SiriusXM has recently addressed the contract situation.
