\n\tPost Malone<\/a> has officially tossed his 10-gallon hat into the international fashion<\/a> ring, along with snap-front denim shirts, fringed leather jackets, coaster-sized belt buckles \u2014 and a horse, which ferried his finale look onto the runway and left a small, scented souvenir.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Monday night in Paris<\/a>, the American rapper and singer unveiled his Austin Post collection at the mansion Karl Lagerfeld once called home, painting his AP logo onto a courtyard wall, clinking bottles of Bud Light with buddies in the garden afterward and posing for photos with swarms of fans, one insisting he cradle her baby.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s something I\u2019ve always wanted to do. And I figured, why the hell not right now?\u201d Malone replied when asked why he decided to enter the fashion<\/a> business. \u201cI think that the product that me and the team have created is really special and speaks to me, and I\u2019m super f\u2013king excited.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking to a small clutch of reporters, the musician said his Season 1 collection represents \u201cwhat I would wear now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m 30 years old, man,\u201d he enthused. \u201cAnd it\u2019s actually tough stuff. So, you know, I\u2019ve worked in the denim and the denim is made in the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMalone is currently in Europe on his \u201cBig Ass World Tour,\u201d with a show scheduled for Wednesday night at La D\u00e9fense Arena in Paris<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tYou could picture the \u201cCongratulations\u201d and \u201cSunflower\u201d singer taking to the stage in the taut jeans with a pony-skin Jacron, studded velvet blousons and cowboy boots with spurs, a collaboration with famed Texas bootmaker Lucchese.<\/p>\n

\n\tFor eyewear, Malone collaborated with Los Angeles-based Jacques-Marie Mage, whose founder J\u00e9r\u00f4me Mage shares his passion for turquoise jewelry and other elements of the American Southwest.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe musician allowed that his take on western style \u2014 recently revived by Pharrell Williams with his fall 2024 men\u2019s collection for Louis Vuitton, and Beyonc\u00e9 Knowles-Carter with her \u201cCowboy Carter\u201d album and tour \u2014 is an elevated one, strong on embellishments like fringe and medallion conchos.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat said, Malone said his Austin Post brand \u2014 that\u2019s his offstage name \u2014 would cost less than luxury labels.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBecause, you know, I\u2019d like people to actually wear it and enjoy it and cherish a piece that they bought for years and years and years to come,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile there were more cowboy hats, jean jackets and facial tattoos than you usually see at a Paris runway event, the Austin Post show attracted a good swath of top, Paris-based editors, a smattering of rappers including A$AP Nast and Django, and retailers including Printemps, Vier, Dover Street Market and Cabinet Noir.<\/p>\n

\n\tWWD spotted Selfridges executive Bosse Myhr, who cited increased consumer interest in the aesthetic Malone is playing.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re seeing high demand for tones of denim blue, cotton beigeand earthy browns, which speaks to the traction this trend is having and the potential for it to continue building,\u201d said Myhr, director of menswear<\/a>, womenswear and childrenswear at Selfridges. \u201cI thought it was a great show \u2014 very of-the-moment, with a real sense of authenticity in how it engaged with Americana and Western cowboy culture.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhat\u2019s exciting now is the shift away from a pared-back luxury look toward something more expressive and rooted in cultural storytelling,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tAsked in the scrum why he chose Paris to unveil his fashion venture, Malone replied: \u201cWell, I love this f\u2013king town.\u201d That said, no Op\u00e9ra Garnier for him.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe went to WWE last night, and it was so much fun because, you know, bring a little body slam into Paris,\u201d he said, referring to the wrestling spectacle, also held at La D\u00e9fense Arena. \u201cI think it\u2019s so much fun to be here. I don\u2019t get to come as often as I\u2019d like, but I\u2019ve made so many beautiful memories here, and we figured, why not bring the Bud Light and the shenanigans to Paris.\u201d<\/p>\n
