{"id":130119,"date":"2025-09-03T16:37:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T16:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/130119\/"},"modified":"2025-09-03T16:37:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T16:37:07","slug":"c-span-networks-land-distribution-on-youtube-tv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/130119\/","title":{"rendered":"C-SPAN Networks Land Distribution On YouTube TV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/youtube\/\" id=\"auto-tag_youtube_1\" data-tag=\"youtube\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube<\/a> TV will carry <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/c-span\/\" id=\"auto-tag_c-span_1\" data-tag=\"c-span\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">C-SPAN<\/a>\u2018s three channels on its base package starting this fall, a major break as the public affairs network grapples with consumers cutting their cable subscriptions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tC-SPAN also said that <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/youtube-tv\/\" id=\"auto-tag_youtube-tv_1\" data-tag=\"youtube-tv\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube TV<\/a> would sponsor the network\u2019s coverage of America250 celebrations, and C-SPAN\u2019s presence on YouTube will be boosted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA C-SPAN spokesperson said that the channels also would be available on <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/hulu\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hulu_1\" data-tag=\"hulu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hulu<\/a> + Live TV.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe private, non profit network has been supported by license fees paid by cable and satellite companies since its launch in 1979, but those revenues have fallen as consumers have cut the cord. CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/sam-feist\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sam-feist_1\" data-tag=\"sam-feist\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sam Feist<\/a> has been seeking carriage on YouTube TV, the largest of the virtual MVPDs. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tYouTube TV had previously said that their subscribers had not shown sufficient interest in C-SPAN to justify adding it. But CEO Sam Feist said that the cost to distributors has been just 7.25 cents per subscriber per month. Lawmakers, including Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Sen Chuck Grassley (R-IA) have urged streaming to carry the networks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn a statement, Feist said, \u201cIn addition to the main YouTube\u00a0platform,\u00a0we are excited to bring C-SPAN\u2019s unfiltered, unbiased programming to YouTube\u00a0TV\u2019s growing streaming audience. For nearly half a century, C-SPAN has partnered with cable and satellite providers who recognize the value of our important public service.
