As some Social Security recipients received two checks in August<\/a>, they will not receive one in September. However, the majority of reciepnts will not see any change to their usual payment schedule.<\/p>\n

Most of the nearly 74 million who get\u00a0Social Security benefits<\/a>\u00a0receive them on Wednesdays throughout the month. For instance, if your birthdate falls between the first and 10th of the month, you are paid on the second Wednesday of the month, which is Sept. 10; between the 11th and 20th, you\u2019re paid on the third Wednesday (Aug. 17), and if you were born after the 20th of the month, you get paid on the fourth Wednesday of the month (Aug. 24), according to the\u00a0Social Security Administration\u2019s calendar<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Here’s what to know about the Social Security payment for 2025 and when checks will go out in September.<\/p>\n

September 2025 Social Security payment schedule<\/p>\n

The Social Security Administration\u2019s yearly distribution schedules for\u00a02025<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a02026<\/a>\u00a0are available online so that you can use the calendar for budgeting purposes.<\/p>\n

Regular Social Security retirement benefits will be sent out on the SSA\u2019s usual schedule:<\/p>\n

Sept. 10:\u00a0Birth dates between the first and 10th of the month.<\/p>\n

Sept. 17:\u00a0Birth dates between the 11th and the 20th of the month.<\/p>\n

Sept. 24:\u00a0Birth dates between the 21st and the 31st of the month.<\/p>\n

No SSI payments coming in September<\/p>\n

Beneficiaries who get Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will not receive a check in September.<\/p>\n

When the first of the month falls on a federal holiday or a weekend, SSI benefits are issued early. Since Sept. 1 falls on Labor Day, the September check was sent out on Aug. 29.<\/p>\n

The next check SSI recipients will receive will be the October check on Oct. 1.<\/p>\n

About\u00a07.4 million Americans<\/a>\u00a0who may be disabled or have limited resources get monthly SSI benefit payments. About half of those who get SSI also get Social Security.<\/p>\n

SSI payment schedule for 2025<\/p>\n

Supplemental Security Income checks will be sent out on the following dates in 2025, according to\u00a0the SSA calendar<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025 (Check for October 2025)<\/p>\n

Friday, Oct. 31, 2025 (Check for November 2025)<\/p>\n

Monday, Dec. 1, 2025 (Check for December 2025)<\/p>\n

Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 (Check for January 2026)<\/p>\n
