Following a fiery court hearing, which exposed items found in discovery as part of the ongoing lawsuit between 23XI Racing\/Front Row Motorsports and NASCAR, a NASCAR team owner questioned the sport\u2019s leaders in a new report.<\/p>\n
Last Thursday, 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports had their court date for their latest preliminary injunction to maintain charter status as part of their ongoing lawsuit with NASCAR. This hearing and the information exposed throughout it caught the eyes and ears of the NASCAR world, even those inside the sport watching from the sidelines.<\/p>\n

Following Thursday\u2019s preliminary injunction hearing between 23XI Racing\/ Front Row Motorsports and NASCAR, multiple reports revealed vulgar text messages\u2026<\/p>\n
In a Sept. 2 report from Jenna Fryer of <\/a>AP Sports<\/a>, the Majority Owner of Spire Motorsports, Dan Towriss, claimed that what was brought out in court was \u201cvery inconsistent\u201d with the tone NASCAR has in recent private meetings. Saying he needs to understand who he is doing business with, asking, \u201cWhich one is it? Is it the people we meet with privately, or is it what you say when we\u2019re not around?\u201d<\/p>\n While it is unclear what NASCAR is telling non-lawsuit teams behind the scenes, Towriss, as a major player in the top divisions of worldwide motorsports, expressing these concerns is noteworthy. During this hearing, Judge Kenneth D. Bell mentioned that should the teams prevail, the sport could see groundbreaking shakeups that could affect everything from NASCAR\u2019s track ownership to even the charter system itself.<\/p>\n Since their introduction in 2016, the value of charters has skyrocketed. A recent report claims that Legacy Motor Club agreed to buy a charter from Rick Ware Racing for a record-breaking $45 million<\/a>, a transaction now at the center of another unrelated lawsuit.<\/a><\/p>\n The teams and their owners have millions of dollars invested in these charters, and as this report points out, those that did not sue NASCAR are worried about the side effects the lawsuit could have on the value of their charters.<\/p>\n A ruling on the current preliminary injunction is expected by the end of this week.
