Helping guide\u00a0Cal State Dominguez Hills men\u2019s basketball\u00a0to numerous championships, national success, and the best records in school history each of the past two seasons, Cascio now brings his elite pedigree to the Oaks\u2019 program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very excited to bring Jackson on board to our coaching staff,\u201d Montgomery said. \u201cHe brings experience, winning culture, and high energy to our team. He\u2019s had the opportunity to make the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons with advancing all the way to the 2025 National Championship game. We hope his experience can help us reach those same heights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cascio contributed to CSUDH\u2019s transformation into a NCAA Division II powerhouse after coming on as an assistant coach ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. The Toros\u2019 2023-24 run saw them achieve what was then a program record 22 victories (17 in conference) as a California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship was achieved alongside five CCAA All-Conference awards including Player of the Year Jeremy Dent-Smith and Newcomer of the Year Jakob Alamudun.<\/p>\n<p>Cal State Dominguez Hills men\u2019s hoops proceeded to better that mark with a 30-6 overall record in 2024-25, capturing CCAA Regular Season, CCAA Tournament, and NCAA DII West Region titles on their way a NCAA DII National Championship runner-up finish where CSUDH fell to Nova Southeastern by a single point. A collection of accolades naturally came with the run as Dent-Smith\u2019s All-American selection combined with five more CCAA All-Conference honors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReally excited to work with Coach Montgomery and Menlo College,\u201d Cascio said. \u201cI\u2019m hoping to use my experience to help cultivate a great student-athlete experience and bring some championships to Menlo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For all they have achieved on the court, the Toros have excelled in the classroom as well under Cascio\u2019s leadership, posting a combined team GPA higher than 3.2 over the last three years.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to CSUDH, Cascio spent two years at NCAA Division I Santa Clara as a Graduate Assistant Coach while also obtaining his master\u2019s degree in Educational Leadership. Along with coaching future professional players such as Jalen Williams of the 2025 NBA Champion Oklahoma City Thunder, he helped guide the Broncos to a 33-20 combined record that included a trip to the semifinal of the West Coast Conference Tournament in 2021-22.<\/p>\n<p>En route to earning his bachelor\u2019s degree in Journalism from Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cascio was tabbed as team captain of the Toros and Porterville College respectively. A CCAA All-Conference Academic Team honoree, Cascio earned the distinction of 2018 Pirate of the Year while at Porterville.
