A second-hand sale in Metairie will invite residents to spruce up their puzzle collections while supporting their local library.<\/p>\n
Friends of the Jefferson Public Library will offer all things perfect for a rainy day at a warehouse sale on Aug. 9: jigsaw puzzles, school supplies, books, DVDs and CDs.<\/p>\n
All items were donated by people across the parish, and profits go to the Jefferson Parish Library.<\/p>\n
Categories selling for $5 a box include CDs, children’s books, cookbooks and fiction.<\/p>\n
DVDs will sell for $10 per box. Pre-packaged Zip-Loc bags of school supplies will be sold for $3-5, and individual puzzles are priced between $2-6.<\/p>\n
The event is held in conjunction with the East Bank Regional Library’s\u00a0Puzzle Extravaganza<\/a>\u00a0from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., said Peg Phelps, the publicity chair.<\/p>\n The free event features a used puzzle swap and a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle contest for adults.<\/p>\n The sale is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or while supplies last, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave. in Metairie.<\/p>\n
