IFA 2025<\/a> has already brought us a lot of gadgets, including AirPods Max chargers<\/a>, Whoop-killing fitness bands<\/a>, business laptops that can game<\/a>, and even a cassette-playing Bluetooth boombox,<\/a> but it\u2019s been a fruitful event for one demographic in particular: party people. First, JBL announced its first battery-powered party speaker, the PartyBox 720<\/a>, and now Samsung is getting in on the action with its Sound Tower speaker.<\/p>\n

The Sound Tower ST50F and ST40F<\/a> are Samsung\u2019s latest entrants into the party speaker space and focus on pumping out lots of volume (a critical part of any party speaker) and the inclusion of lots of flashy lights. First, let\u2019s start with the sound. According to Samsung, the new Sound Tower speakers have a redesigned acoustic structure that should equate to deeper bass and a \u201cwider and more even soundstage.\u201d It\u2019s hard to say if the new Sound Tower speakers actually do that without hearing them for myself, but it certainly sounds like a solid perk in theory. Plus, that deeper customization and more nuanced sound should make four new modes\u2014standard, wide, stadium, and outdoor\u2014feel a lot more tailored to each purpose.<\/p>\n

The other big highlight (no pun intended) of this generation is lots of customizable lights. According to Samsung, there are five \u201cmood\u201d presets and six \u201cdynamic lighting patterns,\u201d which can be customized and tweaked in the Samsung Sound Tower App. Samsung says that its lighting system also reacts in real time and can shift to your specific tunes, which isn\u2019t groundbreaking for a Bluetooth speaker, but still pretty fun if you\u2019re half a keg deep and into the sloppy karaoke part of the night. There\u2019s also a grip and wheels for when you need to lug this thing back to your apartment at the end of the night (or next day?).<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re wondering what the difference between the two models is, it has mostly to do with the output and the battery. While the ST50F model gets 18 hours of battery and has 6.5-inch dual woofers and 1-inch dual dome tweeters, the ST40F has 12 hours of battery and slightly smaller woofers and tweeters\u20145.25 inches and 3\/4-inch, respectively.
