This season will mark the end of \u201cNFL RedZone\u201d being commercial-free.<\/p>\n
Host Scott Hanson confirmed that the seven-hour show will feature commercials in some way when the 2025 season kicks off this weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hanson announced the news on Pat McAfee\u2019s eponymous ESPN show on Wednesday after the ex-punter asked him to give a preview of what his intro would sound like on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He preempted it by saying that \u201cthe business folks handle the business, and I have no say over different elements that could or could not be in the show.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you see me come on the air,\u201d he said, previewing his intro for Sunday. \u201cWe\u2019re gonna hit the Octobox, we\u2019ve got eight games in the early window, taking you around to all the different cities.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then when we get into it \u2018Ladies and Gentlemen, it\u2019s been more than 250 days since the first full NFL Sunday but we are back! And seven hours of \u2018RedZone\u2019 football starts now.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The reaction to the news Wednesday saw viewers angrily posting on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWasn\u2019t the whole point no commercials?\u201d one person wrote on X<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cDon\u2019t they understand that commercials make me not want to buy their product,\u201d another person wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cUnsubscribed from RedZone and refuse to get it until they drop the ads. Until then I can watch whatever is on the air near me or go to my favorite sports bar. Enough is enough,\u201d a third user wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n One notable theme in some of the complaints was blaming Disney-owned sports network ESPN for the commercials.\u00a0<\/p>\n
