Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and University of Missouri Health Care have finally reached a deal.<\/a><\/p>\n

A press release from MU Health Care spokesperson Eric Maze states that the deal <\/a>will restore in-network access to Anthem insurance customers.<\/p>\n

The final contract documents were being ironed out and could take one to two weeks to be fully completed.<\/p>\n

But a statement on MU Health Care’s website states that the deal is effective retroactively to April 1, 2025.<\/p>\n

When asked if Anthem insurance users could use their insurance at an MU Health Care facility on Wednesday, Maze said, “Yes.” <\/p>\n

The agreement will cover people who have self-funded and fully insured employer-sponsored plans and Affordable Care Act marketplace plans.<\/p>\n

It does not apply to Anthem\u2019s<\/a> Medicare Advantage HMO and PPO plans. <\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout this negotiation, our patients have been our top priority,\u201d said Dr. Stevan Whitt, MU Health Care\u2019s chief medical officer in the press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand this process created stress and concern for many, and we are deeply grateful for the patience and trust placed in us during this time. We\u2019re pleased to have reached agreement on terms that will allow us to continue focusing on delivering the convenient, local care our patients and communities need and deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnthem remains committed to protecting access to care while ensuring affordability for our members,\u201d said Stephanie Vojicic, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri, in the press release.<\/p>\n
