This permanent appointment reflects our commitment to putting exploration at the very heart of NASA\u2019s mission and ensuring we have proven leadership to guide us forward. <\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Wow.  Amit Kshatriya continues to speak in complete sentences \u2013 without acronyms and nerd phrases. You could actually take his words from a transcript and post them as an article on <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XMMHKxgwON\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/XMMHKxgwON<\/a> Again \u2013 this guy clearly has a real <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NASA?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#NASA<\/a> rocket science job where he is\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NASA Watch (@NASAWatch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NASAWatch\/status\/1864742582036672543?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">December 5, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many of you know Amit from his distinguished 20-year career with our agency. Most recently, he served as deputy in charge of the Moon to Mars Program in the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD), where he has been instrumental in program planning and implementation for human missions to the Moon through Artemis and our future Mars endeavors.<\/p>\n<p>Amit\u2019s promotion to our senior leadership team underscores the critical importance of the Artemis Program to our agency\u2019s future. His extensive experience and deep understanding of our exploration goals uniquely qualify him to lead NASA as we work to return Americans to the Moon and maintain our nation\u2019s leadership in space exploration.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his career, Amit has demonstrated the knowledge, integrity, and unwavering commitment to exploration that defines the best of NASA. As one of only about 100 people in history to serve as a Mission Control Flight Director, he brings unparalleled operational and strategic experience to our executive leadership team.<\/p>\n<p>This leadership change also signals our continued commitment to working closely with America\u2019s commercial space sector. Under Amit\u2019s guidance, we will strengthen these partnerships that are so vital to growing our space economy and ensuring American leadership in exploration.<\/p>\n<p>I am confident that Amit will help us chart a bold vision for the future of NASA.
