{"id":132105,"date":"2025-09-04T11:34:03","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T11:34:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/132105\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T11:34:03","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T11:34:03","slug":"charlie-sheen-reveals-he-still-doesnt-speak-to-two-and-a-half-men-co-star-jon-cryer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/132105\/","title":{"rendered":"Charlie Sheen reveals he still doesn\u2019t speak to \u2018Two and a Half Men\u2019 co-star Jon Cryer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Charlie Sheen, once the highest-paid actor on TV until his Hollywood banishment in 2011, is revisiting the infamous scandal that saw him axed from \u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d at the peak of its popularity.<\/p>\n<p>The actor, 60, has re-entered the spotlight to promote his upcoming memoir\u00a0\u201cThe Book of Sheen\u201d\u00a0and his warts-and-all Netflix documentary,\u00a0\u201caka Charlie Sheen.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>In the latter, Sheen\u2019s former co-star Jon Cryer makes an unexpected appearance to discuss the highs and lows of Sheen\u2019s tumultuous career, marking a reunion of sorts for the once-close colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Cryer, 60, first revealed last year that the pair \u2013 who played brothers Charlie and Alan Harper \u2013 hadn\u2019t spoken in years, noting he was still bitter their hugely successful sitcom \u201cfell apart\u201d due to Sheen\u2019s highly publicised drug and alcohol issues.<\/p>\n<p>Ashton Kutcher replaced Sheen, who was being paid $1.8 million per episode in the lead-up to his firing, at the height of the show\u2019s viewership, though ratings never quite managed to recover until it was later cancelled in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Now in a new interview, Sheen confirmed the duo still aren\u2019t in communication despite Cryer\u2019s involvement in the doc, telling\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/charlie-sheen-s-message-for-his-former-two-and-a-half-men-costar-jon-cryer-exclusive-11802617\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">People<\/a>\u00a0Cryer was the \u201conly person\u201d he didn\u2019t approach personally to be interviewed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the only reason I didn\u2019t call him was because I didn\u2019t have the right number for him, so the director reached out to him,\u201d Sheen said.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie Sheen (L), Jon Cryer (R), and Angus T. CBS via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut when I saw everything that Jon spoke about [in the documentary], so honestly and very compassionately, I wrote to him and I said, \u2018Hey, thank you for your contributions, and I\u2019m sorry we didn\u2019t connect personally. I hope to see you around the campus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sheen didn\u2019t hear back, but suspected it was because he still had the wrong phone number for Cryer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not like Jon did not respond. He\u2019s super responsible like that. So if you\u2019re reading this, Jon, DM me your new number,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Cryer, 60, said he and Sheen hadn\u2019t spoken in years after their hit sitcom unraveled amid Sheen\u2019s substance abuse. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Sheen, who is now eight years sober, conceded he understood why Cryer has struggled to reconcile their relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was in the line of fire with all that stupid s\u2013t going on, and it was affecting him and his family and his career and all that,\u201d Sheen continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t debate anything that he said [in the doc].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming two-part Netflix series, which hits streaming September 10, features a slew of big names from Sheen\u2019s personal and professional life, including ex-wives Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller, actor Sean Penn and\u00a0\u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d\u00a0creator Chuck Lorre.<\/p>\n<p>\u201caka Charlie Sheen\u201d\u00a0drops on Netflix September 10. Courtesy of Netflix<\/p>\n<p>Sheen and Lorre also had a decade-long feud, falling out when the actor disgraced his then-boss in a series of interviews which ultimately led to his sacking. <\/p>\n<p>The pair have since reconciled, and even worked together on the 2023 drama\u00a0\u201cBookie,\u201d in which Sheen had a cameo as himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had a wonderful relationship for over eight years on\u00a0\u201cTwo and a Half Men.\u201d And then things happened,\u201d Lorre said to People in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Sheen, once TV\u2019s highest-paid actor, is revisiting the 2011 scandal that led to his firing from \u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d at the height of its success.
