\t\t\t\t\tThere have also been a number of bear sightings in the area.<\/p>\n

Groveland police issued an alert this week regarding a family of bobcats spotted near the Georgetown-Groveland line. <\/p>\n

A Blink camera captured footage of the bobcats<\/a> walking through a residential driveway in the Crane\u2019s Conservation area on the Georgetown-Groveland line.<\/p>\n

Newbury police shared the post and reminded the public to \u201cplease remove any source of food and keep all trash cans closed tightly.\u201d <\/p>\n

The department also shared a post this week from Merrimac police<\/a>, which warned the public of multiple bear sightings in the area. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou may see a bear or two walking around or foraging for food and sometimes even smashing a bird feeder or two,\u201d Merrimac police noted<\/a>, warning that the public should not approach approach, feed, or stop to take photos and videos of wildlife. <\/p>\n

\u201cMost bears will leave people alone, should you encounter a bear stand like a tree, make yourself look as large as possible and make as much noise as possible, never run from a wild animal,\u201d Merrimac police noted. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the time of year to bring your bird feeders in,\u201d Newbury police added. \u201cBears use bird food as a source of food so they can bulk-up before winter hibernation.\u201d<\/p>\n
