It looks like there might be an official name for the Valve\u2019s new Steam VR headset, currently known as \u201cDeckard\u201d. <\/p>\n

According to a trademark filing, along with some data mining, Steam\u2019s next VR headset will known as the \u201cSteam Frame\u201d. Per the trademark filing<\/a>, the Steam Frame is \u201cintended to cover the categories of computer hardware; computer networking hardware; computer peripherals; computer hardware and computer software for the reproduction, processing, and streaming of audio, video, data, text, and multimedia content.\u201d<\/p>\n

Along with the trademark filing, dataminer Lifeismana found various strings in the latest SteamVR update that specifically mention the \u201cSteam Frame\u201d device.<\/p>\n

More Than Just A Device Name<\/p>\n

In addition to the Steam Frame name, prominent Valve insider Brad Lynch\u00a0had more details on what Valve\u2019s plans are.<\/p>\n

Lynch says<\/a> that Valve is planning on rebranding SteamVR \u201coverlays\u201d to \u201cFrames\u201d. He added that the major selling point of the device is expected to be \u201cspatial gaming\u201d.<\/p>\n

Insider Gaming has reached out to Valve for comment on the trademark filing and what\u2019s been found in the files. Should a response be received, it will be added to this article. <\/p>\n
