{"id":134810,"date":"2025-09-05T14:30:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T14:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/134810\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T14:30:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T14:30:07","slug":"hollywood-actress-tracee-ellis-ross-becomes-latest-celebrity-target-in-escalating-california-crime-wave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/134810\/","title":{"rendered":"Hollywood actress Tracee Ellis Ross becomes latest celebrity target in escalating California crime wave"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tracee Ellis Ross is the latest of a long list of celebrities who have been victimized by an at-home burglary attempt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the early hours of Sunday morning, thieves shattered a rear glass door at the \u201cblack-ish\u201d star\u2019s Los Angeles home, the Los Angeles Police Department told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/entertainment\/entertainment-news\/tracee-ellis-ross-home-burglary-lapd\/3773041\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NBC4 Investigates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ross was out of town at the time, the department told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>The break-in was reported at about 12:30 a.m. after staff members arrived at the residence.<\/p>\n<p>Three intruders broke in through the glass door, police said.<\/p>\n<p>They left with more than $100,000 worth of jewelry and handbags, officers told NBC4 Investigates.<\/p>\n<p>No arrests have been reported.<\/p>\n<p>A representative for the LAPD or Governor Gavin Newsom did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital\u2019s request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This wave of celebrity break-ins is nothing new. From Lionel Richie to Brad Pitt, stars\u2019 private lives have been targeted for years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, Goldie Hawn revealed that the home she shares with Kurt Russell, her partner of over 40 years, was broken into twice in the span of four months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat if we couldn\u2019t live in LA, where would we live? We both decided, I think it\u2019s Palm Desert.\u2026 It\u2019s so safe,\u201d Hawn said on the SiriusXM podcast \u201cLet\u2019s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just \u2019cause L.A. is terrible. I mean, we were robbed once.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Intruders are accused of stealing over $100,000 worth of jewelry and handbags from the home of Tracee Ellis Ross. @traceeellisross\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>The thieves broke a rear glass door at the \u201cblack-ish\u201d star\u2019s Los Angeles home. 4CRNS, WCP \/ BACKGRID<\/p>\n<p>She said that four months after that, a burglar attempted to break into an upstairs bedroom while she was home alone.<\/p>\n<p>The incidents inspired her to get a guard, especially for when she\u2019s by herself.<\/p>\n<p>Another Hollywood actress, Rachel Bilson, was a victim of the<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/09\/13\/paris-hilton-reacts-to-netflixs-new-bling-ring-doc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> infamous Bling Ring<\/a> five different times between 2008 and 2009.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember at the time, it was pretty jarring, you know, and a lot of stuff was taken,\u201d Bilson told fox News Digital in 2024. \u201cAnd being in my youth, it was probably harder to swallow.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rachel Bilson was a victim of the Bling Ring five different times. Getty Images for SCAD<\/p>\n<p>Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and Audrina Patridge were other targets of the group, which stole a total of $3 million from various celebrities\u2019 homes.<\/p>\n<p>The perpetrators, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2013\/05\/19\/well-always-nab-paris\/?_gl=1*1r9084a*_ga*MTYxOTkyNzI4LjE3NDI0NjUzNDY.*_ga_0DZ7LHF5PZ*czE3NTcwNjQ1NjgkbzY1JGcxJHQxNzU3MDY0NjUzJGozNSRsMCRoMA..\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">who were 18 and 19 years old when the crimes occurred<\/a>, received prison sentences of varying lengths, probation and community service.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a look at the latest celebrities who have experienced home burglaries or burglary attempts.<\/p>\n<p>Lionel Richie<\/p>\n<p>Beverly Hills police arrested a man accused of breaking into Lionel Richie\u2019s home on Aug. 23. His home\u2019s security system was triggered and reportedly scared off the burglar, and nothing was stolen from the property.<\/p>\n<p>Brad Pitt<\/p>\n<p>Brad Pitt\u2019s home in Los Angeles was allegedly \u201cransacked\u201d in June. Evan Agostini\/Invision\/AP<\/p>\n<p>In June, Brad Pitt\u2019s Los Angeles home was allegedly \u201cransacked.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that four individuals were taken into custody<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/06\/26\/celebrity-news\/brad-pitts-5-5m-la-home-ransacked-by-burglars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> in connection with a burglary<\/a> on the 2300 block of North Edgemont Street.<\/p>\n<p>While again, the department does not release or confirm the identity of homeowners, multiple media outlets reported at the time that the property belongs to Pitt, who purchased the home in 2023, according to real estate site The Real Deal.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson from the Los Angeles Police Department stated that officers from the Northeast division responded to a call in the 2300 block of Edgemont Street at around 10:30 p.m. on June 25. According to the report, three individuals allegedly scaled a fence, entered the yard, and broke in through a front window, and proceeded to \u201cransack\u201d the property.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects reportedly took various items before fleeing the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pitt was not at home during the June 25 incident, as he was away promoting his film \u201cF1.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman<\/p>\n<p>Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban\u2019s home in Los Angeles was burglarized earlier this year. Penske Media via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were victims of a home burglary on Feb. 14.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the time, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed with Fox News Digital that their team responded to a burglary report on Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. in Kidman and Urban\u2019s neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2025-02-18\/nicole-kidman-keith-urban-beverly-hills-home-burglary\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Times<\/a> confirmed that the home belongs to the couple.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnknown suspects smashed the glass door to the residence and then fled the location,\u201d a spokesperson for the LAPD stated.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Officers said no one was home at the time of the burglary.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer Aniston<\/p>\n<p>A man was accused of ramming a vehicle into the gate of Jennifer Aniston\u2019s home.
