LOS ANGELES \u2014 Former Hollywood hellraiser Charlie Sheen<\/a> admitted he experienced some surreal moments at the premiere of his Netflix documentary<\/a> “aka Charlie Sheen.”<\/p>\n

Sheen, 60, who celebrated eight years of sobriety on Sept. 3, was struck with wonder reuniting with his once-acrimonious ex-wife Denise Richards<\/a> on the red carpet at Netflix’s Tudum<\/a> Theater. The “Wall Street” star was shocked again to see his one-time drug dealer chronicling the glam event with an iPhone.<\/p>\n

“So I haven’t been to a premiere in a couple of decades, a few things have changed,” Sheen told the audience that included Richards, and former prostitution ring operator Heidi Fleiss<\/a>. “I show up and my drug dealer has taken more photos than I have. And in the next minute I’m on the red carpet with my gorgeous ex-wife, like we’re headed out on the town. What the hell happened?”<\/p>\n

During his public Hollywood meltdown, Sheen was fired from the Chuck Lorre sitcom “Two and a Half Men”<\/a> in 2011 after making about $1.8 million per episode.<\/p>\n

The documentary subject admitted he was pleased the premiere only showed the first episode of the two-part Netflix series. The second will revisit his highly publicized substance abuse spiral in the late 2000s and early 2010s.<\/p>\n

“If we were to watch Part 2, then we wouldn’t be able to maintain, at the end of it, any eye contact,” said Sheen.<\/p>\n

The documentary includes startling interviews with Sheen, Fleiss, childhood friend Sean Penn<\/a>, brother Ramon Estevez, Chris Tucker and estranged “Two and a Half Men” costar Jon Cryer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Director Andrew Renzi praised the emotional stability of his once out-of-control documentary subject.<\/p>\n

“I never could have imagined that Charlie and this project would be the most stable and reassuring presence in my life. But it’s really the poetry in all this,” said Renzi. “It’s no secret that Charlie has been defined in the public by having an unmatched, mercurial and unpredictable persona. That can be sexy and it can be romantic and dangerous, and makes a great documentary.”<\/p>\n

Renzi called the once-self-destructive Sheen “a Hollywood icon that will never exist again. Maybe that’s better for all of us, but it’s never going to happen again.”<\/p>\n

Who did not show up at the Charlie Sheen documentary premiere<\/p>\n

Notably absent from the premiere were Sheen’s father, actor Martin Sheen<\/a>, and brother, Emilio Estevez<\/a>. Neither family member participated in the documentary. “Two and a Half Men” star Cryer participated in the documentary, but did not attend the premiere.<\/p>\n
