{"id":135342,"date":"2025-09-05T19:23:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T19:23:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/135342\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T19:23:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T19:23:08","slug":"cbs-changes-face-the-nation-editing-policy-after-kristi-noem-interview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/135342\/","title":{"rendered":"CBS Changes &#8216;Face the Nation&#8217; Editing Policy After Kristi Noem Interview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CBS News is changing its policy when it comes to editing \u201cFace the Nation\u201d interviews <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/kristi-noem-cbs-news-interview\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">following its recent sit-down<\/a> with Kristi Noem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn response to audience feedback over the past week, we have implemented a new policy for greater transparency in our interviews. \u2018Face the Nation\u2019 will now only broadcast live or live-to-tape interviews (subject to national security or legal restrictions),\u201d a network spokesperson told TheWrap. \u201cThis extra measure means the television audience will see the full, unedited interview on CBS and we will continue our practice of posting full transcripts and the unedited video online.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Friday update comes after CBS News already defended itself from the DHS\u2019s distortion claims following its initial Sunday interview with the Secretary of Homeland Security.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/join-pro\/?utm_source=article&amp;utm_medium=site&amp;utm_campaign=articlePROpromo&amp;utm_id=070825\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"309\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/1757100187_952_Free-Trial-General-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7794376\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSHAMEFUL: CBS attempts to whitewash the TRUTH about MS-13 gang member, human trafficker, serial domestic abuser and child predator Kilmar Abrego Garcia,\u201d\u00a0the department posted on X on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecretary Noem\u2019s \u2018Face the Nation\u2019 interview was edited for time and met all CBS News standards,\u201d\u00a0CBS News representatives then responded. \u201cThe entire interview is publicly available on YouTube, and the full transcript was posted early Sunday morning at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9TScO0Vb1Q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">CBSNews.com<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The change also comes after CBS News\u2019 parent company Paramount Global\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/fcc-paramount-skydance-merger-approved\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">secured approval<\/a>\u00a0from the Federal Communications Commission to merge with David Ellison\u2019s Skydance Media.
