After a crazy past month, Marc Guiu will be focused on trying to impress at Chelsea once the international break is over.<\/p>\n

The Blues<\/a> initially decided that Marc Guiu<\/a>, 19, would benefit from a spell out on loan, so he joined Sunderland on a season-long loan at the start of August. However, Liam Delap\u2019s hamstring injury<\/a> last week just before the summer transfer window shut changed everything.<\/p>\n

Chelsea recalled Guiu from Sunderland<\/a>, and the young striker has acted very professionally following the decision.<\/p>\n

He impressed when he played for the Blues last season, scoring six goals in 16 games across all competitions, but is still quite raw. Hopefully, he can help cover the Delap void, especially as Nicolas Jackson left the club to join Bayern Munich on loan with an obligation to buy.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been claimed that Chelsea have assured Guiu he will play<\/a> in the upcoming fixtures, which looks very busy and should test the squad.<\/p>\n

According to The Athletic<\/a>, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca<\/a> really appreciates Guiu as a player. Apparently, he enjoys the teenager\u2019s \u2018intensity, hunger and passion\u2019, both in training sessions and matches.<\/p>\n

It is explained that staff have even tried to make him do less at times due to fears he might not have the energy to produce when he\u2019s in possession.<\/p>\n

With Delap currently sidelined through injury, Joao Pedro looks like the main man for the No.9 position. However, Guiu is now firmly in the picture as the understudy, so we\u2019d expect him to get opportunities to impress.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s wait and see if Guiu is at the level required to contribute regularly for Chelsea this season.<\/p>\n

The Athletic\u2019s report also states that Guiu has been given a huge incentive by the Spanish national side. Even though Guiu is currently with Spain\u2019s Under-21s, he has been told this week that a place in the senior side at the 2026 World Cup could be a possibility if he plays enough minutes for Chelsea.<\/p>\n

There are plenty of players at Chelsea who are likely to be at next year\u2019s World Cup. If Guiu can be one of them, it would be quite a sensational rise in the next eight months.<\/p>\n
