"img-3199.jpg" ZDNET’s key takeaways Ugreens Finder Tag is on sale now for $16, and the Slim Wallet Finder is available for $30. The battery in the tag for keys is purpose-built to be hard to remove, making it safer around children. They don’t have the high-precision capabilities as more expensive finder tags.

Apple AirTags been a game changer in my life, saving me countless hours searching for my keys, wallet, and passport. But as handy as they are, they’re not without their flaws.

From a technological standpoint, AirTags are genius. But ergonomically speaking, that small UFO-shaped disk isn’t suited for fitting into a wallet or attaching to your keys. I even ended up having to modify an AirTag to make it fit into my wallet.

Also: I found the ultimate accessory kit for tinkerers, and it comes with 180 modifications

Fortunately, there are now alternatives that, while they may not match AirTags in technical features like the precision-finding capability of third-party smart finder tags, they offer significant ergonomic advantages.

For instance, take the new Ugreen Smart Finder tags. One model is specifically designed for attaching to keys and luggage, while another ultra-thin tag is made for slipping into wallets and purses. They’re both beautifully engineered, even sown to the packaging that looks almost Apple-esque.
