COLUMBUS, Ohio \u2014 Nationwide Children\u2019s announced in a statement that they will cease the prescription of gender-affirming medication to their patients starting Sept. 26.<\/p>\n
Though they said they are compliant with current regulations, they are doing this \u201cto proactively plan and support our providers and patients in a rapidly changing regulatory environment.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe hospital will be working with affected patients to end their prescriptions, always with patient safety as a top priority,\u201d the statement reads. \u201cNationwide Children’s will continue to support these patients and families through the provision of behavioral health services, and any other needed healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n
A Franklin County common pleas court judge recently ruled to uphold HB 68, also known as the SAFE Act<\/a>, which\u00a0bans gender transition care for minors under the age of 18. The bill had been vetoed by Gov.
